Post SCCM Migration Remote Control Agent Issue

Issue Reported: Post client migration to SCCM Current Branch (CB) , Fail to take remote control of a machine and the User doesn’t get the prompt to accept the connection.

Solutions:

Step 1: Make sure device on network.

Step 2: Open regedit.exe on your machine , map the registry of affected machine and goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Sms key. Compare working machine registry and non working registry. found permission is missing.

Step 3: Right Click Sms Key and goto permissions option, if you see only two permissions ( SYSTEM and Administrators) then their is a problem.

Step 4: Download and Copy SetACL.exe from internet and put it on affected machine.

Step 5: Connect to affected machine command prompt through PSEXEC and browse to folder where SetACL.exe is place, run the following command SetACL -on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS-ot reg -actn setprot -opdacl:np-actn clear -clr dacl-actn rstchldrn -rst dacl.

Step 6: Now check permissions of SMS key you will see four entries, Try to take remote control now and it work as normal.

Happy Learning!!!
